Our crew provides frameless tempered glass enclosure work and large-format porcelain slab setting, delivering custom, spa-grade primary suites for estate homes and hillside properties. Backed by a current California contractor license and general liability insurance, we handle everything from a single stone shower to a full primary suite taken back to the studs.
From shop-templating a slab so the veining runs continuous around a corner to commissioning a steam generator and its controls, our team carries every detail. Serving Riverside and surrounding communities including Corona, Eastvale and Rancho Cucamonga, we build suites that hold their finish and their function for decades.

What Sits at This Tier
A luxury primary suite is not a finish upgrade. It is a full gut, usually with a layout change, and in this market it runs $30,000 to $80,000, with the top projects reaching $135,000. What moves it there is not the tile. It is the systems: steam, a soaking tub with the structure to carry it, heated floors, a valve array that can run three outlets at once, and stone that arrives as slabs rather than boxes. If the plan is a well-built 100 square foot bath in porcelain and quartz, the mid-grade master bathroom page is the honest place to start.
| Spa system | What it takes to build | Typical installed range |
|---|---|---|
| Steam shower | Vapor-tight enclosure, sloped ceiling, generator, dedicated circuit, bench | $4,000 to $15,000 |
| Freestanding soaking tub | Floor support, relocated supply and waste, floor or deck-mounted filler | $1,500 to $10,000 plus plumbing |
| Radiant heated floor | Resistive electric mats under the tile, thermostat, dedicated circuit | $1,500 to $4,000 |
| Stone or porcelain slab walls | Slab selection, shop template, seam layout, heavy setting | $5,000 to $20,000 |
| Layout reconfiguration | Moving toilet, tub or walls, new drain runs, framing | Adds $3,000 to $10,000 |
Those are market ranges with the factors that move them, not a quote for your house. Steam and slab numbers swing hard on room volume, selection and how far the plumbing travels.
Steam Showers
A steam shower is a sealed room, not an accessory. The enclosure has to hold vapor, so the glass runs to the ceiling, the ceiling gets a slight slope to shed condensate, and the generator sits somewhere serviceable on a dedicated circuit. A humidifying steam generator disperses steam around the body at low volume, so the bench, the head placement and the controls get planned together.
Build it inside a normal enclosure and you get a foggy box that leaks into the ceiling. The waterproofing behind the tile matters more here than in a standard shower, because vapor finds every gap liquid water would have run past.

The tub is the easy part. The decisions underneath it are the project. A cast iron or stone resin tub full of water and a bather is a concentrated load, so the floor framing gets reviewed before anything is ordered, and we template the tub position on the finished floor before the plumber opens the floor.
Then the filler. A floor-mounted filler is the cleanest look and the least forgiving, set in the slab or framing and unable to move later. A deck or wall-mounted filler gives more tolerance. Either way the tub goes in after the tile, and it does not come back out without pulling something apart.
Radiant Heated Floors
Riverside summers run to an August mean of 79.8 F, so nobody here heats a bathroom for survival. They do it because a stone floor at 6 a.m. in January is unpleasant, and heated tile is the most-noticed comfort upgrade in a suite.
The system is resistive electric mats laid under the floor tile in the mortar bed, on their own circuit with a floor-sensing thermostat. Mats have to route around the toilet flange, the tub feet and the vanity toe kick, so the layout gets drawn before the tile does.
Stone, Slabs and What Actually Belongs on a Wet Wall
Large-format porcelain slab and natural stone separate this tier visually, and both change the crew, the lead time and the prep.
| Surface | Wet-area behavior | Maintenance | Best use in a luxury suite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Large-format porcelain slab | Near-zero absorption, very few joints | Wipe clean, no sealing | Full shower walls, continuous veining, bench tops |
| Natural stone (marble, granite) | Porous, requires sealing | Sealing, and an oleophobic impregnator can stretch it to every 5 to 10 years | Feature walls, tub decks, floors outside the wet zone |
| Engineered quartz | Least porous of the common surfaces, no sealing needed | Very low | Vanity tops and shower curbs, not steam ceilings |
| Large-format tile | Better water defense than mosaic, fewer grout lines | Periodic grout care | Floors, secondary walls, curbless pans |
Fewer joints is the argument. Grout and tile-setting materials are porous, so every foot of grout deleted cannot stain or fail. Slabs are templated at the shop and the seam layout is approved before anything is cut.
Valves, Rain Heads and Body Sprays
A luxury shower is a hydraulic design problem. A ceiling-mounted rain head brings water down at low to medium pressure, while a wall-mounted shower panel aims sprayers horizontally at the body. Run both with a handheld on a flexible hose and the supply lines are feeding three outlets at once, which is why the valve package gets specified before the walls close. Thermostatic control holds the temperature you set, and pressure-balancing keeps the shower steady when a toilet flushes.
Then there is Riverside water. This is a semi-arid city that sees 9.39 inches of rain a year, and the mineral load is real. Calcium and magnesium deposits clog shower heads, reduce flow and change the spray pattern, and they do it to a $1,200 rain head as happily as a cheap one. We specify heads and valves that come apart for descaling, and we say plainly that a body-spray array is more nozzles to maintain.
Frameless Tempered Glass
Frameless enclosures are the finish everyone wants and the detail most often botched. Pan design decides which door types are possible, so the pan and the glass get planned together. Panels are tempered, hinges and clamps land on structure inside the wall, and plastic lining along the edges protects the openings from leaks. Mineral deposits haze glass over time, so a squeegee after use does more here than any product sold to fix it later.
Layout Changes, Structure and Permits
Most suites at this tier change shape: a wall moves, a closet is absorbed, the toilet goes into its own compartment. That means new drain runs, often new framing, and a permit from the City of Riverside whenever plumbing, electrical or walls change. We pull it in our name, and on older hillside homes in Hawarden Hills and Alessandro Heights we allow schedule for what turns up behind the plaster.
What It Costs
| Project shape | What it includes | Range |
|---|---|---|
| High-end finish level | Slab or stone walls, upgraded valves, custom cabinetry | $300 to $450 per sq ft installed |
| Luxury and custom finish level | Designer specification, spa systems, bespoke fabrication | $500 to $800 and up per sq ft |
| Full primary suite gut with layout change | New footprint, spa systems, stone, glass | $30,000 to $80,000, top projects to $135,000 |
The drivers: how much of the room moves, whether the structure needs work for the tub or steam enclosure, slab selection and seam count, how many outlets the shower feeds, and lead times on glass, stone and cabinetry.
How the Project Runs
Design and specification take three to six weeks, because slab selection, glass shop drawings and fixture lead times have to line up before demo. On site, most full suites run six to ten weeks: demolition and structural work, rough plumbing and electrical, waterproofing and inspection, slab and tile setting, then cabinetry, glass, fixtures and commissioning of the steam and floor-heat controls.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a luxury master bathroom cost in Riverside?
A full primary suite gut with a layout change generally runs $30,000 to $80,000, and the most involved projects reach $135,000. At the finish level, high-end work runs $300 to $450 per square foot installed and luxury custom work $500 to $800 and up.
How long does a luxury primary suite take?
Three to six weeks of design and specification, then six to ten weeks on site. Slab, glass and cabinetry lead times set the start date.
Is a steam shower worth it?
If the room can hold vapor properly and the generator has a serviceable home, yes. In an enclosure that was not built for it, no. That decision gets made at design, not at tile.
Can I put a freestanding tub on a second floor?
Usually, after we review the framing. A filled tub with a bather is a concentrated load, and supply and waste locations have to be set before the floor closes.
Do heated floors cost much to run?
They are electric resistive mats on a thermostat, so they cost what you schedule them to cost. Most clients run a morning and evening program.
Will hard water damage my new glass and fixtures?
Riverside water leaves deposits that clog heads and haze glass over time. We specify heads and valves that come apart for descaling, and routine squeegeeing keeps frameless glass clear.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. Suite work that moves plumbing, electrical or walls generally requires a permit from the City of Riverside. We pull it in our name and meet the inspector.
Can we live in the house during construction?
Most clients do, using another bathroom. We contain dust, protect floors on the path in, and schedule shutoffs and noisy work in advance.
